No. SBK never runs continuous tracking. Location is only ever shared as part of a signal you actively send — and only with the trusted circle you choose. When your signal stands down, sharing stops.
Your circle is the small group of trusted people — your keepers — you invite to respond when you signal. You build it, you control it, and you can add or remove anyone at any time. Noratec is never a member of your circle.
Routing is computed on your device. SBK calculates the fastest safe path between responders and you locally, then shares only the result with your circle over an encrypted channel. The intelligence never leaves your phone as raw data.
SBK is built for low- and no-signal moments. A distress signal is held safely on-device and transmits automatically the instant any connection returns, so help can begin moving the moment you're reachable.
Never. There is no data harvesting in SBK and no advertising model behind it. Your movements, your circle, and your signals are not collected for profiling and are not for sale — by architecture, not just by policy.

Noratec ("Noratec," "we," "us") builds privacy-first safety systems, including our forthcoming SBK application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information collected through this website (noratec.org). When the SBK app becomes available, it will include its own in-app privacy disclosures covering how the app itself handles data.
Information we collect
We keep collection to a minimum. Through this website we may collect: (a) information you submit through our contact form — your name, email address, the reason for reaching out, and your message; and (b) basic technical information our hosting provider records automatically, such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used to keep the site secure and reliable. We do not run advertising or behavioral-tracking systems on this site.
Information we deliberately do not collect
By design, we do not build or sell behavioral profiles, and we do not harvest your contacts. The SBK application is built on the same principle: no continuous location tracking, no surveillance, and no data harvesting. SBK reads only a distress signal you actively choose to send, shared only with the trusted circle you control.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiries, to add you to the SBK early-access list when you request it, to operate and secure this website, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Legal bases for processing
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we process your information based on your consent (for example, joining the early-access list), our legitimate interests (responding to your messages and securing our site), and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time.
How and when we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the site — for example, our hosting and form provider, which processes contact-form submissions on our behalf — and with authorities or third parties where required by law or to protect rights and safety. These providers are bound to use your information only to provide services to us.
Data retention & deletion
We keep contact-form submissions only as long as needed to respond to you and maintain reasonable business records, after which they are deleted. You may ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing info@noratec.org. Keeping only what is necessary is our default.
How we protect your information
This website is served over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections, and we rely on reputable infrastructure providers with strong security practices. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold.
Your privacy rights & choices
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Children's privacy
This website and SBK are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact info@noratec.org and we will delete it.
International users & data transfers
Noratec operates from, and our service providers may process data in, the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries, which may have data-protection laws different from your own.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our products and legal obligations evolve. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
